For the second time month, Sports Illustrated had a reporter out at Kansas City Chiefs training camp. A couple weeks ago it was Jim Trotter and yesterday it was Peter King, who will have a postcard from camp in the coming days.
Most of you have seen this by now (H/T CWil03) but King tweeted out a few thoughts on his visit to St. Joe:
Out here in Western Mo where the Chiefs are, drought impact is everywhere. Corn stalks stunted and brown. Really feel for these farmers.

There may be some better interview subjects in the NFL, but I don't believe any are more earnest and honest than KC's Tamba Hali.

ST. JOSEPH, Mo.--Chief thoughts 1: Best guess is that DBowe will be in camp within a week and play under his one-year franchise tag.

Chiefs thoughts 2: Dexter McCluster could be exclusively WR, with healthy JCharles and all-business PHillis getting the RB touches.

Chief thoughts 3: Seems like looser, happier team post-Haley ...Eric Berry totally healthy. Told me he's not bitter over hit that ACLed him.

Chief thoughts 4: OC Daboll's scheme picked up quickly by Cassel+guys here. But will Bowe learn the shifts+motions in time to play opener?

Chief thoughts 5: Cassel was beaming when I met him this afternoon. Loves the offense. Seems more at ease in this system than Haley's.

— Peter King (@SI_PeterKing) August 15, 2012@dbk301: Is the hype about Baldwin justified? ... Eric Winston: "The kid's a monster."
So long, KC. I'll be back, Oklahoma Joe's BBQ. St. Louis, here we come (in the wee hours).
