We know the Kansas City Chiefs are currently having a position battle at quarterback. Backup quarterback, that is. Matt Cassel is your starter while Brady Quinn and Ricky Stanzi are duking it out for the No. 2 job.

But there's another quarterback battle going on tonight with the Arizona Cardinals.

John Skelton will start tonight's game for the Cards while Kevin Kolb, who was hurt last week in the Hall of Fame game, is also expected to be available.

I caught up with Jess Root, who runs SB Nation's Revenge of the Birds, and he gave us an update on the other quarterback battle we'll see tonight.

It stands more or less where it did before -- a competition. However, the fans have swayed their favor heavily towards John Skelton because Kevin Kolb amplified every concern about him in his short time on the field on Sunday. He threw an interception (questionable judgement at times), ran away from pressure constantly (no pocket poise) and got hurt (fragile).

Jess writes that Kolb "cannot afford to miss a game" and "needs to redeem himself."

So...Chiefs QB situation or the Cards QB situation -- who ya got?
