It was nice seeing Arrowhead Stadium today. She really shines in this miserable 100-plus degree weather.
I was out at the stadium this afternoon meeting some of our SB Nation folks in town for the game and out of the Arrowhead doors walk all these baseball players. More than a dozen players, so it was one of the leagues (is this Cabrera fella in the AL or NL? I saw him. No, I will not look this up.)
Arrowhead was host to today's All-Star game press conferences and I saw the players walking out, hopping in a bus and taking off down the road.
And then...on the bus back home from the stadium, we had to stop for KCPD who provided an escort for another set of buses headed to the stadium.
I can also report that my bus driver was hilarious. I told him I was getting married in October and rattled off about a dozen marriage jokes, none of them painting a pretty picture of my future. Maybe I'll loosen our standards around here and tell a few of them in the comments.
Homerun Derby is up at Kauffman Stadium tonight. Let us know how you think KC is doing with the All-Star game so far.
