It's already past 11:00 p.m. for those of us on Arrowhead Time so I'm just going to drop a couple of highlights from the Kansas City Chiefs training camp practice this evening and then the full report tomorrow morning. The night practice started at 7:15 p.m. and ended around 9:30 p.m. tonight.
The two important things with the first one hopefully not being so important:
1. Brandon Flowers went down with an apparent injury to his leg/foot/ankle area. I didn't get a good look at exactly went down but Flowers walked off the field but eventually took his pads off and hopped in the front seat of one of those golf carts with someone back up to the locker room/indoor facility area. This happened around 8:30 p.m.
Sorry for the blurry shot here but this is the hill where he was taken up:
I'm not sure how that really helps but I realized I had the picture so why not post it? It's steep.
That's all we know. The term "carted off" has a lot of power but riding in the front seat of a cart and riding in the back leg stretched out a la Jamaal Charles last year seem to be two different things. People see "carted off" and immediately think of those three letters Chiefs fans came to hate last year.
The part about this that will test my patience is that the Chiefs are off tomorrow, which means Romeo Crennel won't be speaking until Thursday. We'll see how it turns out.
2. Earlier in the day, Romeo Crennel hinted that the players recovering from the serious injuries may take it easy and that's exactly what he did. The team was in pads but Jamaal Charles and Tony Moeaki were not. Eric Berry was out there in pads though. Tough break for the fans who came out there but those guys still did some of the drills.
