Just a reminder that Jon McGraw is still a free agent. The Kansas City Chiefs did not re-sign him to a contract and it sounds like it's very possible that McGraw's football days are done, or at least getting close to it. He's 33 years old which is indeed old in the NFL.

McGraw made an appearance at the Basehor Intermediate School this week and the local paper there talked to him about his future.

And his business degree from K-State would come in handy soon, he said. He hasn't signed a contract to return to the Chiefs for next season, and his playing days are likely winding down, he said. He'll likely look to land a job in financial planning, commercial real estate or another industry, he said.

That is playing days are winding down is no surprise. McGraw's skills are clearly declining and he's been unable to consistently stay healthy recently. That's the reason he may not be back in KC. That said, he's an awesome locker room guy and someone who is smart and works very hard so it's possible another team gives him a shot. Some teams, like the Chiefs, value those veterans who offer perhaps more during the week than on Sundays.

Check out the whole story on his visit to the grade school.
