Like every other team in the NFL after the draft, the Kansas City Chiefs are wheeling and dealing with lots of undrafted free agents. Don't look too much into the Chiefs loading up on athleticism in the hours after the draft. Wide receivers and defensive secondary players make good special teams players. It is unlikely we see a starter come from this group.
Below is a list of ten players that have reportedly agreed to a deal with the Chiefs. As usual, all of these signings are unofficial until we get the complete list from the Chiefs.
- S Kansas State Tysyn Hartman
- G Cal Justin Cheadle
- RB Colgate Nate Eachus
- WR Louisville Josh Bellamy
- WR Nebraska Brandon Kinnie
- SS Bethune-Cookman Jean Fanor
- SS Florida State Terrance Parks
- DB Auburn Neiko Thorpe
- DE Notre Dame Ethan Johnson
- C UNC Cam Holland
And here are four players who likely have or will sign with the Chiefs but I cannot reliably confirm it beyond the Twitter rumors:
- K Southern Methodist Matt Szymanski
- LB Louisville Dexter Heyman
- TE Kansas Tim Biere
- FB NC State Taylor Gentry
Of course, if we get some better sources, we'll move these four guys into the "official" list. This time of year is notorious for rampant rumors so we want to be careful. Speaking of being careful, check out this as a good example of why I'm being cautious.
Thoughts on any of these guys?
