The 2012 NFL draft hasn't even started and already we've had two trades. The Washington Redskins gave up a boat load to move up to the second overall pick, which was owned by the St. Louis Rams. And now the Cleveland Browns have traded up with the Minnesota Vikings for the third overall pick. The cost of moving up one spot is a fourth, fifth and seventh round pick.
The target according to several reports is Alabama RB Trent Richardson. I don't think that's a major cost to move up for someone like Richardson. I know the running back position is devalued but he has a shot to buck that trend and some say he could be more like Adrian Peterson. For a guy that will touch the ball (they hope) 20 times a game, that's not a bad deal, in my opinion.
First trade of the day. Thoughts?
