KC Chiefs Announce A Coaching Staff Addition

The Kansas City Chiefs coaching staff has had a little bit of turnover from last year to next year. Offensive line coach Bill Muir retired and assistant offensive line coach Pat Perles was not retained. KC replaced Muir with Jack Bicknell Jr., who was on the New York Giants coaching staff.

And now his assistant position has been filled. The Chiefs announced Steven Smith is the team's new assistant offensive line coach.

Smith was the run game coordinator/offensive line coach at Tennessee State last year. Before that, he was the offensive coordinator/offensive line coach at Albany State. And before that he was the run game coordinator/offensive line coach at Delta State.

He previously had offseason coaching internships with the Cleveland Browns (2011), Miami Dolphins (2008), Dallas Cowboys (2003-06) and New Orleans Saints (2002). He also had some time in NFL Europe.

His playing experience is a four-year stint as a fullback at Southern Illinois.
