Cut By Chiefs, Demorrio Williams Staying In The AFC West

The AFC West signings continue. The Kansas City Chiefs picked up Oakland Raiders CB Stanford Routt and then the Raiders hired a former Chiefs executive Lamonte Winston. And now the San Diego Chargers are getting in on the act.

According to a report from Adam Caplan of, the Chargers agreed to terms on a one-year deal with Demorrio Williams. The deal hasn't been announced by the Chargers yet.

Williams, of course, was cut by the Chiefs earlier this week. The move netted them about $1.7 million in cap savings. He was mainly a special teamer in Kansas City playing behind Derrick Johnson at inside linebacker.

Now Williams will move to San Diego where he'll get to compete for a job.

Not a bad sign that someone the Chiefs cut is picked up pretty quickly. Remember back in 2009 when KC cut a bunch of players and only a few found others jobs? The roster's getting deeper.
