A much needed break from the Peyton Manning (lack of) news...
The Kansas City Chiefs scouts were out at the Rhode Island pro day this week so we can actually slip in a little bit of draft talk on Peyton's day.
Scouts from the New England Patriots and Kansas City Chiefs put seven graduating members of the University of Rhode Island football team through a battery of drills during the school's annual pro day.
Evan Shields, Stanley Dunbar, Jason Foster, Kyle Bogumil, Darrell Dulany, Michael Okunfolami, Willie McGinnis and 2011 graduate Rob Damon took part in the workouts.
There isn't much out there on these guys which means most of these guys could just be hoping for camp invites. Foster and Bogumil are offensive linemen while McGinnis is a defensive tackle and the report says all three had at least 27 reps on the bench press. That's a good start. There are occasionally some steals at the end of the draft and free agency.
We'll go ahead and make this the official Manning-free post of the day (even though this is somehow the third time I've mentioned him in this post).
