The Peyton Manning rumors will continue to heat up this week as it's decision time for No. 18 and the Indianapolis Colts. Manning's big roster bonus is due on March 8, which is this Thursday, so we're thinking something will happen before then.
There's not a lot of new information on Manning. Last weekend we had the grainy cell phone video of him throwing -- that had to be staged, right? -- so it's becoming clear he will be playing football in 2012.
We just don't know for whom.
The common thought process has been that the Colts will release him this week, which seems like the most logical move and the one most people are predicting.
Former Colts coach Tony Dungy is still floating the possibility that Manning and the Colts find a way to stay together. Perhaps that's the case but it'd create a hell of a case of blue balls (can I say that here?).
The rumor mill should be churning out the stories this week. It's not every day one of the greatest quarterbacks in history hits the open market (...if he hits the open market).
The Chiefs, along with the Dolphins, Redskins, Jets and Cardinals are one of the teams that very well could be involved if Manning is released. It should be a fun week.
