Earlier this week, Kansas City Chiefs head coach Romeo Crennel told Adam Teicher of the KC Star that the Chiefs have talked to several free agent nose tackles but they were unlikely to make a decision on those players until after the 2012 NFL draft.
One potential nose tackle is now off the market. Liz Mullen of Sports Business Journal reports the San Diego Chargers have re-signed Antonio Garay.
Garay's career has gone the way of a few starting nose tackles in the league. He was a late round draft pick who didn't play much in his first few years and then peaked in his eighth year in the league. His best year was 2010 and he dropped off a little last year.
The idea of bringing back Kelly Gregg seems more and more enticing with each nose tackle signing on the free agent market.
