Texas A&M QB Ryan Tannehill is conducting his pro day today and at least 20 NFL teams are represented at the work out, including the Kansas City Chiefs. ESPN's Josina Anderson also spots the following teams: Seattle Seahawks (Pete Carroll), Miami Dolphins (Joe Philbin and GM Jeff Ireland), Cleveland Browns (OC Brad Childress), Denver Broncos, Buffalo Bills and New Orleans Saints.
Tannehill is expected to be the third quarterback off the board in next April's draft. The Chiefs are also working out Michigan State QB Kirk Cousins next week.
Tannehill's name has been thrown around as a candidate for the Chiefs 11th overall pick but my guess is that KC won't even have to worry about it because Tannehill will likely be gone. If the Browns don't select him fourth overall, it's hard to see the Dolphins passing on him No. 8. Miami's new offensive coordinator is Mike Sherman, who coached Tannehill at Texas A&M.
However, if Sherman and the Dolphins don't select him at No. 8, then that could be considered a red flag considering Sherman knows as much about him as anyone.
In my opinion, one of the best scenarios for the Chiefs would be Tannehill dropping to pick No. 11 and another team trading up with the Chiefs before the Seahawks can snag him at No. 12.
Thoughts on Tannehill at 11?
