2012 NFL Schedule Starts With Cowboys Vs. Giants On Wednesday Night

The first game of the 2012-13 NFL season will be the Super Bowl champion New York Giants hosting the NFC East rival Dallas Cowboys at MetLife Stadium. The date of the first game on the NFL schedule: Wednesday, Sept. 5 on NBC. It was moved from the usual spot of Thursday due to some political speech going on that day.

The NFL's announcement of Giants-Cowboys to kick off the season is the only announcement they've made on the 2012 NFL schedule. I'm not sure how far in advance they start making the schedule -- the opponents are known right after the season ends -- but I imagine there was some shuffling with Peyton Manning joining the Denver Broncos. (Third consecutive post with a Manning mention, if you were counting.)

Man, I am so pumped for the season now....only five-plus months to go. This sucks.

So with one game down, only 15 more to go, including our KC Chiefs. You know where I stand on who the Chiefs should play in Week 1.
