Kamerion Wimbley Lands With The Titans

Free agent Kamerion Wimbley became a free agent last weekend and his first known visit came this week with the Tennessee Titans. The former Oakland Raiders pass rusher was staying in Nashville last night after his Titans visit, which is usually a sign something is close and, according to reports, something was close.

According to Adam Caplan, Wimbley and the Titans agreed to a five-year deal that will pay him $35 million.

People wondered if the Kansas City Chiefs would show interest in Wimbley due to the connection with Romeo Crennel, who drafted Wimbley while with the Cleveland Browns in 2006. I'm all about adding pass rushers but Romeo knows this guy pretty well and apparently didn't put the full-court press on him like they did RT Eric Winston.

The Chiefs pass rush may, as Todd Haley would say, have their arrow pointing up. We know who Tamba Hali is and it certainly appears Justin Houston made nice progress last year as the season went on.
