Another day, another set of stories from around the NFL world saying the Kansas City Chiefs would be a great fit for Peyton Manning.
First, former NFL coach Brian Billick writes on FOXSports.com that the Chiefs offensive weapons make KC an attractive spot.
But maybe most important for the Chiefs, after firing the offensive-minded Todd Haley and the ensuing retirement of last year's offensive coordinator, Bill Muir, they haven't yet installed a new offensive scheme. Brian Daboll, formerly of the Dolphins, is the new offensive coordinator but would be most willing to take on Manning and his entire offense.
Billick has the Chiefs as one of three teams that make sense, along with the Seattle Seahawks and New York Jets.
Second, ESPN's Bill Williamson makes the case for KC as Manning's best option.
In addition to their interest and financial means, here's another reason the Chiefs could be favorites to land Manning: They may be the best team interested in him. That would surely appeal to Manning when he is making his choice. I'm not sure many of the interested teams can offer Manning a better supporting cast.
That's it for today's "Why Peyton Manning makes sense for the Chiefs" stories.
