Peyton Manning's Mystery Team Is The 49ers

We heard earlier this morning that there was a "mystery team" involved in the Peyton Manning sweepstakes and I brushed it off as agent-driven info, trying to drive the price up on his latest contract (which is, per the Denver Post, going to be around $60 million over five years with $30 million guaranteed).

Apparently, not. ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports San Francisco 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh worked out Manning this week. Manning also went through a physical.

Yeah, San Fran is in the Manning sweepstakes.

This is news I didn't expect. The 49ers, like the Kansas City Chiefs, make a ton of sense for Manning. In fact, I think the 49ers are the only team that makes more sense for Manning than the Chiefs.

Surprising stuff. What do you think of the possibility of Manning in San Fran?
