Kevin Boss Likes The Chiefs Young Talent

We heard from the Kansas City Chiefs brass on the Kevin Boss signing so now it's time to hear from Boss himself.

The new Chiefs tight end met the KC media in a Friday morning conference call and talked about his decision to sign with the Chiefs.

"I kinda like the smaller town feel," Boss said. "Just talking to Mr. Pioli and coach Crennel, I just love the whole organization from the top down. Looking forward to getting out here and getting settled in."

Boss said he was supposed to head back home yesterday but instead signed with the Chiefs. His wife is flying into KC today and they'll be looking for a place to live. (FYI, Kevin: a pretty cool home for sale down the street from me in Brookside. We could run the annual block party!)

Boss said he had multiple roles in both New York and Oakland so he's ready to do whatever the Chiefs coaching staff asks. He also referenced the New England Patriots two tight end sets with Rob Gronkowski and Aaron Herndandez, indicating the Chiefs would like to have that firepower at the tight end position, too.

He also remembers playing the Chiefs twice a year last season, noting how tough the defense was.

"The talent here is amazing," Boss said. "Young talent, so that's something that we've got to look forward to in the future and a lot of years to continue to build this team."
