Tracking The KC Chiefs Free Agents

Every day of free agency through this point we've been going through all the Kansas City Chiefs free agents and updating any rumors or reports surrounding each player.

Here's another updated look at the Chiefs free agents (with few updates).

Re-Signed

LB Jovan Belcher (RFA): One-year, $1.972 million. He's staying in KC to compete against Brandon Siler for the inside linebacker job. With those two, would you consider inside linebacker a need right now?

Other Free Agents Signed

RB Peyton Hillis: One-year, $3 million deal. Good value. I like the idea of signing guys like Hillis looking to prove themselves and get a longterm contract. No better motivator than money and Hillis wants to get a multi-year deal.

TE Kevin Boss: Three-year, $9 million deal. Will be teamed with Tony Moeaki.

Signed Elsewhere

CB Brandon Carr: Five years, $50.1 million from the Cowboys. Kinda explains why he didn't sign with the Chiefs. I think he knew he'd be a hot commodity in free agency.

FB Le'Ron McClain: Three-year, $8 million from the Chargers. Nice player but KC didn't use him like a $2+ million per year type of player. His departure is OK.

QB Kyle Orton: Three-year deal with the Cowboys. Backup in Dallas over competing for starting job in KC? I think the real question is whether Orton would ever have a chance to beat out Matt Cassel if he were in KC.

Drawing Interest In Free Agency

RB Jackie Battle: He's going to test free agency and reportedly has three teams interested. Among those interested teams are the Chargers, according to reports out of San Diego. A downgrade from Mike Tolbert.

WR Jerheme Urban: He's drawing interest from the Cowboys, according to a report.

Nothing New

QB Tyler Palko (ERFA): Can't see him coming back to the Chiefs.

S Reshard Langford (ERFA): I can see him coming back to the Chiefs. But if they were going to bring him back why didn't they just tender him an offer?

TE Anthony Becht: Veteran. May not make a playing decision until later in the summer.

DB Travis Daniels: He says on Twitter he wants to run. No deal yet.

S Sabby Piscitelli: Haven't heard a peep.

TE Leonard Pope: Hmm. Kevin Boss's signing may rule him out.

OT Barry Richardson: I'd keep his number in case you needed a backup swing tackle but do not plan on him playing significant minutes.

DE Wallace Gilberry: Oddly, nothing on him. What's up with that? A guy like Gilberry doesn't draw interest in this league?

S Jon McGraw: Not sure.

RB Thomas Jones: Haven't heard a peep. He may be waiting for a camp injury or something to get back on the field.

DL Kelly Gregg: Still sounds like retirement.

OT Ryan O'Callaghan: Ditto.

C Casey Wiegmann: Ditto.
