Brandon Carr Was 'Blown Away' By The Cowboys

Still seems weird.

Brandon Carr talking like he's a Dallas Cowboy. It's gonna take a little while to get used to this.

I just watched Carr's interview with the Cowboys official site. Carr said he was "blown away" by his visit with the Cowboys, seeing "the big star on the jet". He said he was a Cowboys fan growing up and his first jersey was Troy Aikman.

Another good line: "The coaches have faith in me and that's why they brought me here and pretty much sent the whole house to come get me."

I transcribed the whole thing below but click here to watch the video.

On how excited he is:

I'm very excited. I've been waiting for this day for a very long time. I'm humble, grateful to be here and I'm blessed to be in this situation. At the end of the day, I'm ready to go back to work and do some work for the Dallas Cowboys.

On visiting the Cowboys and the free agency process:

I was blown away from the initial plane ride to pick me up with the big star on the jet. Sat down and talked to the coaches on the way down here. Got down to the stadium and it was everything I imagined. One of the best stadiums in the world, or it is the best stadium in the world. The hospitality I got while I was here was unmatched and I think everyone was genuine and eager to get this thing going again and that's what I want and why I'm here.

On whether he followed the Cowboys growing up:

I've always been a Cowboys fan. My very first jersey, I think I got at Christmas, was a Troy Aikman uniform and my cousin had the Lions and we used to go at it all the time. So I was destined to be here. It's very exciting. My family is very proud of me. I'm going to continue to represent my hometown and I represent the Cowboys.

On Carr's type of game:

My game, I'm going to use my ability, my athletic ability and I'm gonna use my size. The NFC has some really great receivers. I'm up to the challenge to try and shut them down. The coaches have faith in me and that's why they brought me here and pretty much sent the whole house to come get me. I'm going to continue to do the same thing and that's play aggressive at the line of scrimmage. I feel like I can run with a lot of guys in this league. Just go out there and have that swagger and let it be contagious to the rest of the secondary and the team.

On Kyle Orton, who joined the Cowboys:

He's very knowledgable of the game. He plays his role very well. He's a motivator so to speak. He's always positive, upbeat and keeping guys in the game -- offense, defense and special teams. He's going to bring that to the table and when his number is called one day, I've seen him in action, I know he can step up to the plate and handle it.
