A few of the Kansas City Chiefs free agency goals are becoming clear. Find a bigger running back to pair with Jamaal Charles, which is why Mike Tolbert and Peyton Hillis are visiting. And find a tight end to go along with Tony Moeaki, which is why the Chiefs tried to sign John Carlson, who bolted KC for Minnesota.
Without Carlson, the Chiefs have turned their attention to Kevin Boss. Adam Caplan of TheSidelineView.com reports Kevin Boss is scheduled to come in for a visit. Boss was originally the Giants fifth round pick in the 2007 NFL draft. He signed a multi-year deal with the Raiders last year in free agency and like so many other former Raiders they cut him a year into the contract.
Several teams have reportedly expressed interest. He technically became a free agent at 3:00 p.m. (Arrowhead Time) today.
The visit is scheduled for Thursday. So if anyone out there sees Boss walking around KC tonight or tomorrow morning, make sure he doesn't pull a Carlson and head back to KCI.
The Chiefs have already benefited once from a Raider cut (Stanford Routt). I wouldn't mind making it two.
