About 24 hours into free agency and the Kansas City Chiefs haven't signed anyone (that we know of). They're bringing in a few free agents for visits but no actual signings.
So we're in kind of a lull right now but I bet that'll probably change pretty quickly.
While we wait for Chiefs news, here's what's going on around the rest of the league...
John Henderson was released by the Raiders. Remember him? The Chiefs were supposedly interested in him way back when but he ended up signing with the Raiders. Kevin Boss is also on way out today.
Michael Bush is visiting a few teams including the Bears and Bengals. I think I'd pick the Bengals in that situation because he'd have an opportunity to be more of a feature back rather than playing beside Matt Forte (...unless this is Matt Forte insurance?).
It's looking less likely the Colts will end up trading Dwight Freeney, according to NFL.com. He has a $19 million cap number with one year remaining. That's a ton of space. I don't think a trade makes sense for anyone knowing the Colts could end up releasing him. Freeney would be very valuable on the open market.
Ben Grubbs has a couple of visits. Reportedly the Saints and now the Redskins have interest. He'll probably get a huge deal someplace. Carl Nicks got $9.5 million per year in Tampa Bay. I was thinking about this: Jon Asamoah for about $500,000 > any other guard for $9.5 million.
Eagles release center Jamaal Jackson The guy taking his place is Jason Kelce. If you remember the book "War Room" by Michael Holley, Chiefs GM Scott Pioli really liked Kelce and wanted to take him before the Eagles did.
