The first couple of hours of free agency went by and I saw more than a few Kansas City Chiefs fans getting a little anxious. Don't worry, though. The Chiefs have apparently been looking for a bigger back to pair with Jamaal Charles.
According to Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain-Dealer, RB Peyton Hillis will visit with the Chiefs. And Adam Teicher of the Kansas City Star reports the Chiefs will also visit with Mike Tolbert.
Hillis of course was with the Cleveland Browns last year (and on the cover of Madden). He had a down year and there were some reported issues as he sought a new contract. But he fits the mold of a bigger back so KC will take a look at him.
Tolbert is really the one I like. He's coming from the San Diego Chargers -- division rivals are always nice -- and fits the profile of a bigger back. He's also a threat to catch the ball outta the backfield with over 50 receptions last season. He'd be a good fit.
This makes me wonder what'll happen with Jackie Battle and Thomas Jones, both free agents for the Chiefs. Battle plans to test the market while we haven't heard any rumblings on Jones.
