RT Eric Winston's First Visit Is With The Dolphins

When the Houston Texans surprisingly released RT Eric Winston on Monday night, a lot of Kansas City Chiefs fans said GM Scott Pioli should get on the phone. And I agree with those people. Winston makes a ton of sense in Kansas City, at least it seems.

Winston's first visit will not be to Kansas City. He told Sirius XM NFL Radio that he plans to visit the Miami Dolphins tonight. His brother, by the way, works for the Dolphins front office.

He said "a lot" of teams have called about him.

(Update: Missed this from the KC Star's Kent Babb, via Twitter: "The Chiefs have shown interest in free agent right tackle Eric Winston but have not yet scheduled a visit.")

I hope one of those teams is the Chiefs. Right tackle has been a problem it seems since the John Tait left. The Chiefs have very little experience at offensive tackle on the roster and the best chance for Matt Cassel to succeed is to bolster the line.

We'll see what happens from here.
