In one hour, we'll see the Kansas City Chiefs signing dozens of players and spending tens of millions of dollars in free agency.
OK, not really. But free agency does start in one hour, at 3:00 p.m. (Arrowhead Time). That means the Chiefs can start pursuing other teams players but it also means they're going to be trying to keep a few of their guys. Jackie Battle, for example, is testing free agency and could return if he doesn't find anything he likes out there. Others, like Brandon Carr, will be free agents and likely won't return to KC.
There's plenty of talent already hitting the market as teams continue to release players. Sometimes the best free agents are the cap casualties, which is something to keep in mind.
Another good reminder is this, from Andrew Brandt of National Football Post:
This time of year brings out one of my mantras of negotiating contracts: some of the best deals you make are the ones you don't.
This is your one hour countdown to free agency.
