Earlier this morning, Kansas City Chiefs CB Brandon Carr tweeted: "So thankful to be able to see this day. #blessed." He's of course talking about his impending free agency. At 3:00 p.m. (Arrowhead Time) today, Carr will officially be a free agent.
He's been in the league since KC took him with a fifth round pick in the 2008 NFL draft. All he's done since then is start every game and put himself in position to get paid a lot of money.
Or, as Brandon Flowers put it on Twitter earlier today, Carr is about to "about to break the bannnnnnnk."
Rumors have connected him to the Dallas Cowboys, who need secondary help. Outside of Cortland Finnegan, Carr might be the top cornerback on the market.
It's gonna be a little sad for me if/when Carr leaves. He's one of my favorite Chiefs and a guy who does things the right way. Fortunately, KC has his replacement in Stanford Routt (at about half the price). I'm not really blaming either side for Carr's departure. Both sides will walk out of this OK.
