NFL Free Agency: One Nose Tackle Goes Off The Market

If the Kansas City Chiefs were considering free agency for their next nose tackle, the options just decreased by one. The New York Jets announced that nose tackle Sione Pouha has been re-signed to a three-year contract extension. This has been something that's been in the works for a few days now so it's not a bit surprise that it got done.

But what this does mean is that when free agency hits tomorrow afternoon, the Chiefs will have one less option at nose tackle. In theory, this means the price tag on other nose tackles should rise because there are only so many nose tackles available.

The one we'll probably hear a little more about in the coming days in the Miami Dolphins' Paul Soliai. At 6'4" and 355 pounds, you can see why he would be attractive. He's also only 28 years old, five years younger than Pouha. He's expected to hit free agency after playing under the franchise tag last season.

The Chiefs can find a nose tackle in free agency, which starts tomorrow afternoon, or in the NFL draft where they hold the 11th overall pick. Do you prefer one of the other?
