Romeo Crennel and the Kansas City Chiefs have announced their coaching staff for the 2012 season and included in it are five new coaches. A few of them we knew about, and a few others we didn't.
Previously reported: Brian Daboll is the new offensive coordinator from the Miami Dolphins. The Chiefs also previously announced the hire of Tom McMahon as special teams coach. They also confirmed a previous report that Jack Bicknell Jr. has been hired away from the New York Giants as offensive line coach.
The new guys: Jim Bob Cooter, who will be the offensive quality control coach. He's also up for the best name on the team. In fact, I think he wins that one in a landslide. He was previously with the Indianapolis Colts and played at the University of Tennessee (the alma mater of Mrs. Arrowhead Pride). Derius Swinton has been hired as the special teams quality control coach. He was previously with McMahon in St. Louis.
Other notables include Nick Sirianni staying on as the new receivers coach. Crennel previously indicated he had a "direction" he wanted to go with that. Also staying on board is Jim Zorn, the team's quarterbacks coach.
We will have a full break down coming of all the coaching moves this offseason -- the guys retained, the guys brought in, who the other candidates were, etc.
