NFL picks, Week 14: Can the KC Chiefs make it two in a row?

My prediction: No they can not.

US PRESSWIRE

Do the Kansas City Chiefs have enough left in the tank to beat the Cleveland Browns?

Unfortunately, I'm going to say no. While I liked the Chiefs performance against the Carolina Panthers last week, they still almost lost to a three-win team. They nearly played perfect -- no turnovers and one penalty -- and still lost barely won. (Edit: It's early. No coffee yet.) That's concerning to me.

So I'm picking against the Chiefs this week. My blurb on my SBNation.com picks column reads:

The Chiefs and Browns both had tragedy strike their franchises this weekend, so emotions will be running high. The Chiefs, despite playing well last week, have proven they're one of the worst teams in the NFL. The Browns are actually looking up, winners of three of their last five, which includes an overtime loss to Dallas.

The pick: 17-13, Browns

That said, the Chiefs have been playing better lately. They've been blown out just once in their last four games, so that's progress. I guess.

In ESPN's picks, Mike Golic is the only to take the Chiefs.

In Yahoo's picks, everyone is taking the Browns.

In CBS Sports' picks, two people are taking the Chiefs.
