The Associated Press reports that a memorial service for Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Jovan Belcher will be held this afternoon in Kansas City.

The Chiefs moved up their practice schedule today so players could attend, according to the report. The service is not open to the public.

A little after 12:30 p.m., the KC Star's Adam Teicher tweeted:

I know many will have strong opinions on holding a memorial service for him. Please be respectful to the families and friends of those who were lost.

Update: Adam Teicher has a report on the memorial service.
