By the way, Brady Quinn had a great game for the Chiefs on Sunday

Our thoughts have understandably been elsewhere over the last day but Brady Quinn played extremely well against the Panthers.

We have to talk about at least one part of the actual game on Sunday.

Brady Quinn, the Chiefs starting quarterback, played a terrific game.

Quinn's first pass went 21 yards, the first 20-plus yard pass of the season for him. The second one was 34 yards -- and it went to Jon Baldwin! That's when I realized we might be in for a different kind of day.

Quinn looked in command of the offense. It didn't hurt that Jamaal Charles carried the ball 27 times for 127 yards, chewing up important minutes on the clock.

He finished completing 19-of-23 passes, which is an amazing number for a Chiefs quarterback. Completing 82.6 percent of your passes is not something you will see from a Chiefs quarterback very often. And these weren't dump-offs either -- he was stretching the field.

He threw his first touchdown in almost three years to the day. December 6, 2009 is the last time Brady threw a touchdown pass. He threw two on Sunday.

Tony Moeaki had his first touchdown of the season. So did Jon Baldwin and Peyton Hillis.

This was, dare I say, the best Chiefs offensive performance of the year?
