Chiefs' Romeo Crennel not concerned with playing spoiler

He's just trying to win a game.

Kelley L Cox-USA TODAY Sports

At 2-12, the Kansas City Chiefs just a win. Don't care who it's against or how it comes or who starts at quarterback. They just need a win. (Unless of course you're playing for draft position. Which the Chiefs probably should be.)

Chiefs head coach Romeo Crennel was asked about playing spoiler down the stretch with games coming up against potential playoff teams in the Colts and Broncos.

"No. I'm not worrying about being a spoiler," Crennel said on Monday, via comments sent out by the Chiefs. "I'm just worried about trying to win a game. I don't care who it's against. Or I don't care what the situation is, I just need to win a game. If I can win agame, I can feel better about myself and about this team, knowing that we can get something positive done."

The Chiefs will be 'dogs in both of their games coming up.

Crennel was asked about his future as the Chiefs head coach and, as expected, said he's only focused on this week.

"My future, hey I've been in this business a long time and I know that the future is the next game. So that's the one I'm concentrating on and seeing what I can do to try to win the game. If we win the game, we'll see what happens down the road. The only control I have is trying to win a game."

I'm still waiting for the first coach to say, "Hell yeah I'm nervous about my job!"
