KC Chiefs head coach Romeo Crennel has already ruled out Dwayne Bowe for the Week 15 game against the Oakland Raiders, according to several reports. If you're looking for the No. 1 pick, then this news isn't so bad. If you're looking for the Chiefs to be competitive, then it stings.
Bowe is said to have a rib injury, with one person reporting the Chiefs were "concerned" he had two broken ribs. That they're already ruling him out of Sunday's game suggests it's somewhat serious. Bowe was kneed in the back by a Browns player in Sunday's game.
Crennel wasn't sure if Bowe would be able to play at all the rest of this season with three remaining games. That's disappointing not only because you want your best players on the field but also because Bowe's future beyond this season is so cloudy right now.
It is possible, if you think about it, that we've seen the last of Bowe in a Chiefs uniform. I hope that's not the case, and I hope they figure something out. But his contract is up at the end of the season, so we have to be prepared for the possibility that Bowe played his last down as a Chief.
Here's to hoping Bowe returns in Week 16 and blows up the final two weeks of the season.
