Chiefs injury report: Branden Albert likely out and other o-line questions for Broncos week

Seven total players are on the injury report.

Denny Medley-US PRESSWIRE

The Kansas City Chiefs will soon learn what life is like without Branden Albert, who is doubtful for Sunday's game against the Denver Broncos. Two more offensive linemen, Ryan Lilja and Jon Asamoah, are questionable.

Von Miller week is not a good time for this to be happening.

Doubtful: Branden Albert

Doubtful means he almost certainly won't play, so don't be expecting any miracles here. But this is probably the worst possible time for the Chiefs to lose Albert.

Von Miller, Aldon Smith and J.J. Watt are all second year pass rushers who are on pace for 20-something sacks. The Chiefs play only one of those guys this year, and that's Von Miller on Sunday.

So not a good time to lose your left tackle.

But this will be a good heads up for the Chiefs as to what life would be like without Albert, whose contract is up at the end of the year. No one's been louder than our own B.J. Kissel about Albert's importance to the Chiefs, and the need to sign him longterm.

We shall see.

Donald Stephenson will step in at left tackle. The rest of the Chiefs o-line, if they're healthy, should be normal.

Questionable: Jon Asamoah, Ryan Lilja

Asamoah had that hand surgery last week. Lilja went down with a knee injury late last week. They were both limited on Friday, so I don't have a good gauge as to whether they'll be available to play. Let's hope so.

Probable: Dwayne Bowe, Jon Baldwin, Tony Moeaki, Steve Maneri

Bowe and Baldwin are both expected to play, which is good (but probably bad for Steve Breaston).
