Watching the Kansas City Chiefs play is sickening and disgusting

It's a two-way street.

Kim Klement-US PRESSWIRE

All right, who's all here? Arrowhead Pride, and that's it? All right. I have something to say, and if it's not run in every internet outlet, I am done talking to Arrowhead Pride for the rest of the season.

We are fans, OK? We are fans. We are not gladiators. Our couches are not the Roman Coliseum. People pay their hard-earned money when they come to Arrowhead and I believe we can boo, we can cheer, and we can do whatever we want. I believe that. Players are lucky to play this game. Chiefs players, it's hard economic times, and we still pay the money to watch this.

But when a team absolutely sucks, there are long lasting ramifications to the way we feel as fans, long lasting ramifications to the way we feel. I've already come to the understanding that I won't live as long because I get so aggravated watching such an awful team and that's OK, that's a choice I've made and a choice all of us have made.

But when you show no effort, when you show zero effort while getting knocked out by an opposing team, I don't care who it is and it just so happened to be the Cincinnati Bengals... it's sickening. It's 100 percent sickening. I've cheered for some rough times on some rough teams. I've never been more embarrassed in my life to be a fan of the Chiefs than in that game right there.

I get emotional about it because these fans, they cheer their butts off. These fans haven't done anything to you players, coaches and personnel guys, haven't done anything to you people. Haven't done anything to the players that kill the team's chances with stupid plays, haven't done anything wrong to the guys that come out and play on Sundays. Hey, if we're not the best people then we're not the best people and that's OK. But we're fans. And the team gets knocked out in a game and we have 53 players just going through the motions while they get knocked out?

Bash us all you want. Bash me all you want. Throw me under the bus. Tell me I'm doing a bad job. Say I gotta do more research for my columns or make funnier jokes. Do whatever you want. Say whatever you want. But if you are one of those players, one of those players that were out there giving zero effort or even let up for a single play, I just want to let you know, and I want everybody to know that I think it's sickening and disgusting. We are not gladiators and our couches are not the Roman Coliseum. This is a game we love getting disgraced.

I'll sit here and I'll answer all your questions for the next 30 hours if you want to ask them, and I'll take all the responsibility I can take because I deserve it. But don't blame fans, and don't lay a half-ass effort on fans who have done everything in their power to be as good of fans as they can be for this team.

It's sickening. And I was embarrassed. I want ever single one of you internet people to put this on your Twitter account and on your Facebook pages because I want every player to know that. This is a game that we love that has costs us a lot of money. That's OK. We picked it, we deserve it and I don't want your pity. But we have a lot of problems as a team if players think that's OK.

I'll get off my soapbox and you guys can ask any football question you want, now.
