NFL picks, Week 11: Can't pick the Chiefs if they can't score TDs

The Chiefs offense isn't good enough to pick KC to win.

Can the Kansas City Chiefs beat the Cincinnati Bengals?

Sure, they can.

Will the Chiefs beat the Bengals?

Based on what's happened this season, I will say no. Every time I think the Chiefs can win a game, they go out and lose by three scores to the Bills. Or by four touchdowns to the Bucs. Or by double digits to the Raiders.

So with that pessimism outta the way, I present to you my pick for this game. Here's what I wrote at SBNation.com:

Joel: If Jets-Rams is the saddest game, then this is a close second. The Bengals actually have hopes for this season, so they have something to play for. The Chiefs, meanwhile, are deciding between Brady Quinn and Matt Cassel. Let that sink in for a second. Chiefs fans are hoping Brady Quinn plays.

Joel's pick: 23-13, Bengals

And our guest picker is Josh Kirkendall of Cincy Jungle.

Josh: I've seen so many games where the Bengals were projected as favorites against a team with a poor record and watched Cincinnati play down to their opponents. We're hoping Cincinnati isn't looking ahead to Carson Palmer week against the Raiders next week. Yet, when A.J. Green was asked if they're overlooking Kansas City, he said "We lost to friggin' Cleveland." Classic, right? That being said, I'm going to say that this is a close one. Within a touchdown at least.

Josh's pick: 23-17, Bengals

If I were better at followup questions I would've asked Josh how the Chiefs are going to score two touchdowns because they haven't done that in a game since September. (Read that again. Incredible.)
