The Kansas City Chiefs injury woes continue with more names added to the injury report for Week 5 against the Baltimore Ravens. The names to be concerned about are Peyton Hillis, Glenn Dorsey, Ropati Pitoitua and Derrick Johnson.
Here's a run down of the injured Chiefs:
No practice: Peyton Hillis, Glenn Dorsey, Jalil Brown, Ropati Pitoitua
Hillis' situation continues to be monitored. He had an ankle injury in the Chiefs Week 3 game against the Saints and did not play last weekend.
Dorsey had a mid-week injury last week and did not play. We're not sure what his status is for Sunday but it's not a good sign that he's not practicing.
Ropati Pitoitua replaced Dorsey on the field last Sunday but not he's not practicing due to an elbow injury.
Limited practice: Derrick Johnson, Ryan Lilja, Devon Wylie, Kendrick Lewis, Dexter McCluster, Steve Breaston, Dwayne Bowe
Romeo said specifically that DJ and Lilja would be limited and then lumped the others into the "they're getting better" category so I'm assuming all those guys will be listed on the injury report, but maybe not.
DJ is obviously the big name there. He left the field last Sunday in the fourth quarter and did not return. He has a groin injury, according to Romeo, which means this is separate from his ankle injury entering Week 1.
Here's what Romeo said on the other guys: "Devon Wylie, it looks like he's going to make it back. Kendrick Lewis is still making progress, we'll have to see where he is. [Dexter] McCluster made it through the game ok with his elbow. [Steve] Breaston made it through the game ok with his knees. [Dwayne] Bowe made it through the game ok with his leg."
McCluster, Breaston and Bowe all played last week so they should be fine.
And then there's Kevin Boss, who will be placed on IR.
We'll circle back around and confirm the players who did and didn't practice according to the official injury report.
