Kevin Boss injury: Chiefs doctors rule him out, new player signed

The KC Chiefs announced on Wednesday that Kevin Boss's season is over. The team is placing him on injured reserve due to a Week 2 concussion he suffered against the Buffalo Bills. See the hit that ended Boss's season here.

Romeo Crennel made the announcement on Boss and also confirmed the new signing, linebacker Bryan Kehl, who will take Boss's spot on the roster.

The doctors informed us that they were not going to clear Kevin Boss to play football the rest of this year, so we put him on IR and so that gave us a roster spot.

"We used that roster spot to sign Bryan Kehl, a linebacker out of BYU. He played with the Rams, so he will be with us today.

"Kevin was disappointed, we're disappointed because we thought he was a good addition to the team, we felt like he would be able to help us, and he enjoys playing football, wants to play football, but with his situation, he's not going to be able to play this year. So we had to make that move. He'll take time to try to get back and get himself together and then in the mean time we'll keep treating and working with him and kind of go from there. But he is on IR and that means he's lost basically for the season for us."

Tough blow for the Chiefs. Boss seemed like a good addition in the preseason and the short time he was on the field in the regular season, but his season is now over.
