We've been running a series this week that takes a look Around the AFC West, and this time we come to the Denver Broncos. In a down year in the division, the team looks as good as any, and they have the best quarterback in the division in new arrival Peyton Manning.
We recently asked a few brief questions to Kirk Davis from Mile High Report to give us a quick look at how the team is feeling and performing at the bye week.
Given the expectations of the season so far, what's the morale for Broncos fans at the bye?
The morale of the fan base is pretty high right now. Of course wins have a way of doing that and a victory over a division rival at the Bye makes the pendulum swing favorably. The team is starting to really jell, the foreboding feeling of Peyton Manning's frailty is finally dispelled and the defense seems to be responding to Jack Del Rio, our seventh Defensive Coordinator in as many seasons. I think the hardest part of the schedule is past and the Broncos look like an improved team from 2011.
What's been the main focus for the Broncos during the bye week?
Recovery, relax and recharge. The refocus on the rest of the schedule.
Is it possible to say that a verdict is in on the Peyton Manning acquisition?
Peyton is fine. He proves that each week.
How do you feel about the Broncos chances to come out on top in the AFC West in 2012?
Very good.
