Just got done with the coaching tape for the 1st half for Chargers-Chiefs: Game was essentially over 7 minutes after it started.
— Adam Caplan (@caplannfl) October 3, 2012
The trend of breakdowns on defense each game is troubling. The KC defense is getting closer to the non-competitive stage.
— Adam Caplan (@caplannfl) October 3, 2012
Spacing given up, missed tackles, missed assignments. Just embarrassing. And you would think the corrections would show up.
— Adam Caplan (@caplannfl) October 3, 2012
No reason to think the Chiefs can win at home vs. the Ravens this week. You know it's bad when the Chiefs are really bad at home.
— Adam Caplan (@caplannfl) October 3, 2012
And keep in mind I was a big backer of the Chiefs coming out of the preseason. So this isn't easy.
— Adam Caplan (@caplannfl) October 3, 2012
On off: turnovers, bad field position. RT @theonlyhanch: @caplannfl what do you think is the cause of the free fall of the #chiefs?
— Adam Caplan (@caplannfl) October 3, 2012
Def: Discipline, tackling, lack of pressure. RT @theonlyhanch: @caplannfl what do you think is the cause of the free fall of the #chiefs?
— Adam Caplan (@caplannfl) October 3, 2012
That all said, Cassel played as bad as I've seen him play in a while vs. SD. Just awful. Ball location, accuracy, decision making.
— Adam Caplan (@caplannfl) October 3, 2012
Saddest part of the Chiefs so far: Plenty of talent---completely underachieving. It's early, still time to turn it around, but....
— Adam Caplan (@caplannfl) October 3, 2012
Baldwin needs to be on the field more. Needs to start opposite Bowe. Breaston is best inside.
— Adam Caplan (@caplannfl) October 3, 2012
They need to unleash Berry. He needs to be a major factor again like he was before he got hurt.
— Adam Caplan (@caplannfl) October 3, 2012
Positives from the SD game: Defense showed up in the 3rd quarter. Got into the backfield a bit. Bowe and Charles.
— Adam Caplan (@caplannfl) October 3, 2012
It's not like the AFC West is a good division. The Chiefs can turn it around, but they'll need to get it together rather quickly.
— Adam Caplan (@caplannfl) October 3, 2012
Mechanics were off too. RT @nfl_bridge: @caplannfl Cassel locks onto View too often n does not get others involved in passing game.
— Adam Caplan (@caplannfl) October 3, 2012
Cassel, for whatever reason, would not move with bodies around him. Partially responsible for at least 1 INT, inaccuracy.
— Adam Caplan (@caplannfl) October 3, 2012
Needs to create more functional space. RT @kckid116: @caplannfl for a QB that's like 6-4 Cassel has more tipped passes than he should.
— Adam Caplan (@caplannfl) October 3, 2012
When Cassel doesn't step into his throws, he becomes a college QB. He has no margin for error. Very evident every time I watch him.
— Adam Caplan (@caplannfl) October 3, 2012
Not Cassel. RT @tylerjdavis21: @caplannfl Who will be Chiefs starting QB next year?
— Adam Caplan (@caplannfl) October 3, 2012
You can with with QBs such as Cassel, Alex Smith, Fitzpatrick, and Sanchez with a great defense, good OL, and solid running game.
— Adam Caplan (@caplannfl) October 3, 2012
When those QBs have to be the center piece, that's where the problems begin. Gotta limit their throws, stay ahead of the down.
— Adam Caplan (@caplannfl) October 3, 2012
When the Chiefs won the AFC West, plan was simple: Limit Cassel, run the ball, play defense. Don't ask him to do more than that.
— Adam Caplan (@caplannfl) October 3, 2012
Avg. attempts per game for Cassel in 2010: 30 (won division). 2012: 40.25.
— Adam Caplan (@caplannfl) October 3, 2012
Better question for December. Too early now. Plenty of time to turn it around. RT @moshady: @caplannfl think Pioli survives?
— Adam Caplan (@caplannfl) October 3, 2012
No. RT @nick_dowd: @caplannfl Do you think it is worth benching Cassel for Quinn?
— Adam Caplan (@caplannfl) October 3, 2012
