More From Romeo Crennel And Scott Pioli On The Chiefs Coaching Search

The Kansas City Chiefs officially introduced Romeo Crennel as the new head coach on Monday (which you should know by now since we've been talking about it all day) and we're going through Monday's press conference picking out the interesting tidbits (and there weren't many).

We talked about the update on the coordinators as well as the quarterbacks.

A couple of other quotes:

Pioli on the coaching search: "There was no foregone conclusion on who it was going to be because there were people out there that we needed to interview. We went out and talked to well over a half dozen people."

So that's the number -- more than six coaching candidates. Joe Philbin and Jeff Fisher were reportedly two of those guys. The others? Think we'll ever find out?

Pioli on the final three games: "There was a great deal of accountability and consistency. There was also a different energy from the football. So, yes, a lot had to do with those last three weeks."

Pioli says the final three games did matter (obviously) in making the decision on Crennel. It's interesting that he said that had "a lot" to do with it. I figured Crennel's hire would be as much about what he's done the last two years in KC as the last three games.
