The Chicago Bears officially announced the addition of Phil Emery as their new general manager. Emery of course is coming from the Kansas City Chiefs where he spent the last three years as the director of college scouting.
Emery took the podium just after 2:00 p.m. (Arrowhead Time) this afternoon and introduced himself to the Bears fans and talked briefly about his rise to general manager. And in that intro thanking those who helped him along the way he mentioned the Chiefs GM, Scott Pioli.
Scott Pioli, who without question is one of the finest leaders that I've ever been around. Knowing what's right for the group and doing the right thing for the group and being a good teammate are the things I've taken from Scott.
Emery's exit means the Chiefs have to hire someone new. The draft is in just a few months so I wonder how the Chiefs will handle his departure.
