Your Daily Kansas City Chiefs Coordinator Update

Recently, NFL Network's Jason La Canfora reported via league sources that Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Bill Muir was "likely" to retire.

It's now been three weeks since La Canfora's report and there has not been any other news on the status of Muir. He's still on the coaching staff, as far as I know. At least the Chiefs haven't made any announcements about his status.

The KC Star's Adam Teicher told Bob Fescoe and Josh Klingler on 610 Sports Friday morning that he would be surprised if Muir was the Chiefs coordinator next season.

"I'd be surprised, certainly, if he were part of the staff of coordinators at least," Teicher said. "That would really surprise me. I think they're definitely going to be going outside to find their coordinator. Will he be part of the staff? I doubt it. But it's certainly possible."

Romeo Crennel and the Chiefs coaching staff spent part of this week dealing with the East-West Shrine game on Saturday and they'll be en route to Mobile, Alabama for the Senior Bowl next week. I suspect they'll be interviewing guys there and keeping an eye on which teams are eliminated from the playoffs this weekend if they have a target there as well.
