SB Nation's latest 2012 NFL mock draft is out and once again we're seeing the Kansas City Chiefs connected to an offensive tackle. That's certainly the perception around the league as it seems just about every year the Chiefs are connected to an offensive tackle in the draft.
Two weeks ago, SB Nation's mock draft tabbed Iowa OT Riley Reiff. Last week they selected Stanford OT Jonathan Martin.
And today they select Ohio State OT Mike Adams.
The Chiefs offensive tackle situation is an interesting one. Every team wants an elite left tackle to protect the quarterback's blind side (assuming the quarterback is right-handed) and the Chiefs don't have one of those elite guys.
But they have a guy -- OT Branden Albert -- who is good enough, in my opinion. He's not someone you're going to cut because he's still useful, whether he's a 6 or a 10. The other side of the offensive line, however, is a question mark. OT Barry Richardson simply did not play very well -- like one of the worst in the league. Perhaps the Chiefs do target an offensive tackle but for the right side.
But it's becoming clear that, once again, mock drafts across the web will be targeting an offensive lineman for the Chiefs.
