Brian Waters Reaches Agreement With....The Patriots

We heard that G Brian Waters worked out for the New England Patriots yesterday and we heard later that the two sides were even talking contract. As it turns out, they did discuss a contract because the Patriots just reached an agreement with him. This according to ESPN's Adam Schefter

Terms of the deal weren't disclosed.

The Patriots get the help they need at right guard and Waters gets a spot on a contender, which most veterans near the end of their career want. This seems like a win-win for both sides.

Waters' contract before he was released by the Chiefs probably made him close to untradeable so if you're wondering why the Chiefs didn't trade him instead of simply releasing him I would guess that's the reason why.

I'm still comfortable with Waters' release. G Jon Asamoah is a young guy and will make mistakes (like a pair of penalties in a preseason game) but overall I think he's going to be a very good player. The time to play Asamoah was now and I'll say the Chiefs made the right decision.

So...November 21st in Foxboro? This is gonna be interesting.
