The Kansas City Chiefs defense is giving up a lot of yards but they've held the San Diego Chargers to just 10 points through one half. They've created two turnovers, and two more fumbles that they didn't recover. From that perspective, the Chiefs are still in this game.
Unfortunately, the Chiefs offense has done absolutely nothing in the first half. The longest play of the game is four yards. The Chiefs have no first downs right now. They have no points. The passing game has consisted of six completions -- all to running backs.
Blame it on the playcalling. Blame in on Matt Cassel. Blame it on the Chargers defense. I don't know what it is -- a combination of all three -- but the Chiefs offense isn't leaving us much hope today. The score makes it seem like this is close but the stats say this should be a blowout. The way the offense is playing, 10 points might as well be a million.
All that said, it's only 10 points. Moving into the second half, the Chiefs have to do something, anything on offense to generate some movement.
