The Kansas City Chiefs announced three personnel moves on Wednesday that involves RB Jamaal Charles, WR Jeremy Horne and OL Lucas Patterson.
First, the Chiefs formally placed Charles on injured reserve after he tore his ACL in Week 2 against the Detroit Lions. Chiefs coach Todd Haley confirmed the move earlier this week so this was expected.
Second, the Chiefs brought back Horne to the active roster from the practice squad with the open spot after Charles' trip to IR. Horne was with the Chiefs last year and has some deep threat ability, though he's still young. He was on the Chiefs active roster for three games last year.
Third, the Chiefs replaced Horne's spot on the practice squad with Patterson. He was signed as an undrafted free agent earlier this year and went through training camp with the team.
Considering the options available, I don't mind bringing Horne back. I thought he might make the team out of training camp and could help the Chiefs with their passing game.
