It's officially official: Jamaal Charles' 2011 season is over.

Kansas City Chiefs head coach Todd Haley confirmed that Charles will land on IR, which automatically rules him out for the rest of the year, Josh Looney reports.

Charles' injury is reportedly a torn ACL, the same injury that ended the season of TE Tony Moeaki and S Eric Berry in the last two weeks. It'll be a long recovery process for him and one to monitor considering this could affect his explosiveness.

The Chiefs now have 52 players on the active roster, which means another player will likely be signed sometime soon.

Sigh....
