Kansas City Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles was injured in Sunday's game against the Detroit Lions and it certainly didn't look good although we don't know exactly what's wrong. The Chiefs have lost S Eric Berry and TE Tony Moeaki to torn ACLs so we're especially sensitive to knee injuries around KC.
Charles was trying to stretch a running play down the right sideline into a first down. His first step out of bounds, with his left leg, came right on the marker used to indicate a first down. It appears his leg buckles when he hits that and he falls to the ground clutching his right knee.
He's taken off the field and looks like he was in pain. Several Lions players came to shake his hand as if they knew it was a bad injury.
Let's hope for the best on Charles. Losing him would be like a punch in the face after what the Chiefs have experienced this year.
