The Detroit Lions are leading the Kansas City Chiefs 14-3 midway through the second quarter but everyone's thoughts are with RB Jamaal Charles, who went down with a scary-looking knee injury in the first quarter. We have no updates on Charles' injury status right now.
Here's the Jamaal Charles injury video. Ugh.
The Chiefs are sticking to the run, for the most part, in this game and it's working well. K Ryan Succop got the Chiefs on the board with a field goal but he missed a 44-yarder on the next drive.
RB Thomas Jones and RB Dexter McCluster are splitting the rushing duties with Charles currently out of the game. McCluster has 31 yards rushing including a 24-yard reverse on the first rushing play of the game.
It's early and the Chiefs defense looks decent at times (as I write this, the Lions just scored again making it 14-3) but our attention can't fully be on this game until we know what's going on with Charles.
